Launched in 2022, Mugly's came into existence for multiple reasons, with a profound love for an exceptional cup of tea being the main driver. We appreciate an excellent brew, and more often than not, it's a traditional black tea with milk, sugar, and the occasional biscuit or two that hits the spot.

In our opinion, there's nothing worse than a cheap, insipid cup of tea. We dedicated several months to researching and perfecting our own brand to ensure our teas met our standards for the perfect 'cuppa.'

We understand that, as of now, you can easily grab 40 budget tea bags from one of the UK's major supermarkets for a mere 28p, which translates to just 0.7p per tea bag. If you're on a tight budget, those options might be suitable for you.

Growing tea & growing a business.

Tea is a year-round crop, setting it apart from many other commercial crops that are season-dependent. For estates that prioritize sustainability over quick profits, tea serves as a source of stable year-round income and jobs, making a significant impact in the developing world.

Unfortunately, not all tea estates adhere to sustainability principles. This leads to lower yields, lower tea quality, reduced prices, and less stability for the workers. Luxury quality teas (like ours) are hand-plucked, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and contributing to significantly less CO2 emissions.

I'm predicting that most, but not all of you reading this, are British. We Brits are renowned for our love of tea, often portrayed in TV stereotypes. Yet, it might surprise you that we're not the world's biggest consumers. While "English Breakfast" and "Earl Grey" keep our country well-caffeinated, Turkey takes the lead in tea consumption. Rarely will you find an event or occasion, from weddings to funerals, where tea isn't readily available. It's often served in beautifully ornate tulip-shaped glasses and known for its strong, full-bodied flavour. Turkey is truly the place to be if you're a tea enthusiast.

As of 2022, the top 10 tea-consuming countries stretch across the globe. Ireland, China, Iran, and Poland also rank high. The reasons behind this international love for tea vary; it's all about quality, taste, and the diverse flavours reflecting regional preferences.

Prior to our launch, we prioritized affordability, quality, and taste satisfaction. We meticulously sourced the best of the best, curating 10 distinct tea types from the UK and around the world.

With our brand, we aim to create a new tea-drinking culture. We don't intend to change how people drink tea; rather, our mission is to revolutionize how tea is grown, harvested, and distributed in the future.

Staying Sustainable.

This is why we chose India as our tea source. Sustainability is the key. You might wonder why, and that's perfectly understandable.

The short answer is simple: India boasts a well-established and sustainable production process that has been evolving for decades. Initiating a new factory in the UK and creating an entirely fresh process from the ground up would be counterproductive to our commitment to sustainability.

Rest assured, we haven't settled for the first grower or supplier we came across. Our approach is meticulous. We've carefully selected our own blends and brews, conducting trials, tastings, and quality checks on every batch before it receives our seal of approval for packaging and general sale.

What makes them Happy Brews?

Since our launching, we've expanded our product range to offer more than just tea. We now feature our Hot Chocolate branded as 'Magic Cocoa' and our Coffee as 'Java Beans.' However, you might wonder why our teas are named 'Happy Brews'? It's because we want happiness for you, for us, and for all the workers involved in the tea-growing and production process.

To ensure that happiness remains a central theme in our business, alongside quality and sustainability, we've adopted a stringent approach. We won't allow you to taste the tea unless we're completely satisfied with its quality, and we stand by this principle. But when you do savour our tea, we're confident that you'll be enjoying a "Happy Brew." We take delight in knowing that every step of our journey has been carefully planned to ensure that we deliver what we've been craving throughout our tea-drinking lives.
